Business Development Consultant, Incubation

Are you a technology enthusiast with a knack for driving business transformation? Are you a cloud platform native looking to partner with leaders in computer vision, AI vision analytics and business intelligence? Can you seamlessly navigate between influencing product offerings and developing business within emerging markets? We want to hear from you!

Axis Communications' Business Development, Solutions & Services team is seeking a Business Development Consultant, Cloud Platforms to join our growing team in the Americas. This role will require a high level of technical aptitude, business acumen and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will have experience working within the cloud data platform industry, focused on commercialization and monetization of services business models. This role will play a critical part in driving the future of our cloud platform services in addition to other incubation business initiatives. This is an Onsite role based out of our Chelmsford, MA office with some flexibility to work from home.

Please note : We are seeking someone with prior experience in external, consultative customer-facing business development and sales engagements. Applications with a cover letter will be given first preference.

What You'll Do Here

  • Act as a subject matter expert in assigned technologies (Cloud / Connected Services, Data / AI / IOT Platforms) and their related license models, platforms, capabilities, and partner ecosystems.
  • Partner closely with internal and external stakeholders to support the commercialization and monetization activities of assigned incubation business initiatives from early inception to market introduction.
  • Identify and analyze new opportunities for growth, potentially leveraging new partners, business models, markets, and technologies.
  • Analyze and monitor the competitive landscape for Cloud Data Platforms, serving as a resource for market trends.
  • Represent Axis in both internal and external speaking opportunities when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing to drive regional market messaging on assigned responsibility.

  • Strategic thinker, analytical, detail, and results-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Motivated self-starter who is able to translate uncertainty and ambiguity into clear, precise plans.
  • Strong understanding of data platforms and technologies with the ability to have credible conversations with engineers / developers about technical design trade-offs, including platforms, frameworks, scalability, and performance.
  • Proven ability to build strategic and trusted relationships at all levels internally and externally.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the proven ability to identify implementation roadblocks, process improvement, and other tactics to ensure timely delivery of features while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a virtual team.
  • What We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years of practical experience as a Business Analyst or in business development, focused on business intelligence and / or cloud platform.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or technically associated field preferred.
  • Practical experience within Enterprise environments : selling / adoption, expectations management, outcome requirements, compliance, service levels and success metrics.
  • Practical experience in building proposals, including establishing Service Level Agreements.
  • Highly Valued :

  • Experience with computer vision and vision data is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with IIoT and Industry 5.0 preferred.
  • Practical experience selling to / within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) channel and to / within ecosystem partnerships.
  • Physical Demands :

  • Ability to lift 20-50 lbs occasionally.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time within the region.
  • Pay range : The approximate pay range for this location and position is $115-125K OTE (90%=Base and 10%=Commission). Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state.
