We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef and Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. This pivotal role reports directly to the Director of Business Operations and establishes the maximum operational efficiency and food quality and is responsible for all back-of-house personnel and their training. The ideal Head Chef and Kitchen Manager will be a hands-on leader with a passion for quality, creativity, and teamwork.
Duties / ResponsibilitiesPlan, prepare, and oversee menu development and food presentation for daily meal service and catering events; modifying menu based on food trends, costs, member requests and seasonal availability.Hire, lead, and mentor back-of-house staff to ensure consistent quality, professional growth, and accountability.Manage food inventory, ordering, and cost controls.Maintain compliance with health, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.Foster a positive and efficient work environment focused on excellence and service.May be assigned other duties and responsibilities as needed.Required skills / AbilitiesStrong knowledge of kitchen operations, menu planning, and food safety standards.Proven success in team leadership and cost management.Creative mindset with a strong sense of flavor and presentation.Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.Comfortable balancing hands-on cooking with administrative and strategic responsibilities.Must have CFPM (certified food protection manager) or FSSMC (food service sanitation manager certification)Education / ExperienceHigh school or equivalent (preferred)Food service : 5 years (preferred)Certification from a culinary school or degree in Restaurant management is a plusPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of standing and walkingMust be able to lift, balance and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 poundsThis role offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to lead our team toward culinary innovation while maintaining operational excellence and providing an exceptional experience for our members.
