Title : Part-time Armed Safety & Security Officer - Private Schools Shift : Monday-Friday, 0800-1200 Location : Orlando, FL area. Details : NOTE : If you do not have combat arms military experience and / or SWORN law enforcement experience, you will not be considered - no exceptions. Must have an active Florida D and G license to be considered. You must pass a thorough background check and references will be requested. We are seeking highly qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Armed Security Officer at private schools and other vulnerable institutions in the designated area. The primary responsibility of the Armed Safety & Security Officer is to maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. Minimum Qualifications Mandatory : All applicants must have a current D and G security license. All applicants must fall into one of the following eligible categories. EITHER - (1) Former law enforcement officer (state, federal, or military) with at least 10 years' experience; - OR - (2) Current sworn law enforcement officer (state, federal, or military) operating in a reserve status; - OR - (3) Former military, preferably combat arms, military police, security forces, or CID with at least 10 years experience. Ability to pass an FBI criminal background check. Demonstrated experience in law enforcement, security, or a related field. Advanced small arms training and experience in handling firearms. Medical response qualifications or training, including first aid, CPR, and emergency medical procedures. Expertise in physical security measures, including surveillance systems, access control, and alarm systems. Strong understanding of threat identification and de-escalation techniques. Preferred : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, parents, and school staff. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound judgments in high-pressure situations. Note : This position requires a thorough criminal background check and may involve occasionally working evenings and weekends to ensure comprehensive security coverage for non-regularly scheduled events. Responsibilities : Maintain a visible presence on school grounds, actively patrolling designated areas to deter and detect potential threats or security breaches. Ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors by monitoring access points, conducting bag checks, and implementing security procedures. Respond promptly and appropriately to any security incidents, emergencies, or alarms, taking necessary action to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of individuals on the premises. Collaborate with school administration, teachers, and support staff to develop and implement security protocols and emergency response plans. Provide guidance and assistance to students and staff in matters related to security, ensuring a supportive and safe educational environment. Utilize advanced small arms training to maintain proficiency in firearm handling and safety, while strictly adhering to established protocols and legal requirements. Demonstrate expertise in physical security measures by identifying vulnerabilities and implementing appropriate countermeasures to enhance overall school security. Apply knowledge of threat identification and de-escalation techniques to proactively manage potentially volatile situations and diffuse conflicts. Stay updated on current security trends, best practices, and relevant legislation to continuously improve security protocols and procedures. Conduct regular security assessments and inspections to identify potential weaknesses and recommend enhancements to existing security systems.
