Description : Purpose
The Clinical Supervisor shall provide direction to the clinical services in the community programs, ensuring that clinical services are delivered using best practices, in accordance with established policies and in compliance with licensure and accreditation standards. This position is responsible for overall management of clinical / case management services and their integration and partnership with Outpatient Services, TFC / IL and FPP services, as well as for assisting in program development.
Essential Job Functions
- Monitors the clinical staff and contractors.
- Monitoring responsibilities include assisting with interviewing, hiring, and training employees and contract providers; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Provide clinical supervision to therapists seeking independent licensure and ensure proper supervision of students interning in the community-based programs
- Provides oversight of all contract staff and ensures their compliance with the BHSO license. Monitoring of contracts, training, referral assignment, co-signature on all documentation as required for billing or licensure and required supervision meetings.
- Ensures that clinical services are designed and implemented to meet the needs of clients, their families, funders, and referral sources. Coordinates and ensures around-the-clock clinical consultation coverage for Outpatient clients. The Clinical Manager is on call for phone consultation, and in rare emergencies, on-site support.
- Ensures that clinical services are delivered using evidence based and evidence supported practices, including providing leadership in the selection, training, implementation, fidelity monitoring, and evaluation of these practice technologies.
- Works with V.P. of Community Based Services and program supervisors to establish and maintain effective and collaborative partnerships that support the positive integration of clinical services through solution-focused, strengths-based approaches.
- Coordinates Treatment Team meetings and supervises treatment, discharge planning, and aftercare follow-up for clients. Ensures the quality of the treatment team and treatment planning processes.
- Participates in leadership and other committee meetings as appropriate. Conducts and chairs meetings, such as the Outpatient staff meeting, for the purpose of providing leadership, review, development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
- Assists in facilitating the working relationship between the community partners, services providers, and staff and contactors.
- Develops and coordinates the training program for clinical staff to ensure that they are properly and professionally trained. This includes ensuring that licensure candidates receive adequate individual and group supervision as expected by their licensing boards and providing direct clinical supervision when needed and as appropriate.
- Maintains an active clinical license for practice in Kentucky.
- Attend agency trainings as required.
- Assures that documentation of clinical services is appropriate, accurate, timely and compliant with all state and federal requirements and Manages Care Organizations. Assists in the implementation of the computerized client information system.
- Develop and implement documented plans with therapists to remove barriers to increasing engagement with clients and families. Assist with managing operating expenses within the approved budget on an ongoing basis. Assists with monitoring, supervising and implementing the necessary budget controls as they relate to income and expenses, with consultation and approval from Unit Manager.
- May assist unit manager and program supervisors with developing relationships with local universities to coordinate clinical internships for students.
- Participates in long range planning of the agency and assists with developing and implementing new program directions as requested.

Education and / or Experience
Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; and five to ten years related experience and / or training.
