Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Nurse Float Pool Specialist, you will work under the supervision of the House Supervisor, performing essential nursing duties such as assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care within established hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Experience Required : Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience in two areas of hospital patient care.
Education Required : Must hold at least an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, with a Bachelor's degree preferred. New hires after May 1, 2020, must have an Associate's degree in Nursing.
Licensure : Must be a licensed registered nurse in the state of practice or possess an active compact license. Those with compact licenses from states other than Texas must :
Certifications Required : BLS, ACLS / ALS, and NIHSS certification as defined by St. David's Healthcare Policy.
All nurses caring for stroke patients must maintain NIHSS certification annually, complete 8 hours of stroke education per year, and finish a mandatory stroke core measure module.
Preferred : Certification in the area of specialty.
