Job Scope

What You'll Do

  • Develop advanced control strategies and features for EV propulsion applications in a fast-paced environment.
  • Conduct transient simulation of electric machine and inverter controls to validate new control strategies in various mission profiles.
  • Develop firmware to implement control strategies on automotive inverters, demonstrating performance up to TRL6.
  • Collaborate with hardware designers to identify opportunities for cost reduction and safety improvements.
  • Scan for emerging power electronic control technologies to increase power density and efficiency while minimizing costs.
  • Prepare technical documentation and presentations for progress updates and reviews.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mechatronics with 7+ years of experience in power converters and controls.
  • Higher qualifications with less experience may also be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of power electronic control, PWM modulation, machine drive, and digital controllers.
  • Experience with microcontrollers and peripheral circuits like PWM, ADC, encoders, SPI.
  • Familiarity with modern control theories and control loop tuning.
  • Knowledge of AC / DC power converter topologies and related digital control methods.
  • Experience with transient modeling of electric machines and power converters considering nonlinearities.
  • Proficiency with simulation tools such as Matlab / Simulink, SPICE, PLECS, and PSIM.
  • Experience with ADC converters, filtering techniques, and digital signal processing.
  • Problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and open-mindedness.
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
  • Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in power electronics.
  • Proficiency with PLECS, PSIM, SPICE.
  • Knowledge of modern control theories.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
