The Montana State Library (MSL) i s seeking applications for a Montana Shared Catalog Trainer. This is a full-time permanent position that is eligible for all applicable state benefits and retirement. The position is located in Helena and is eligible for remote work within the State of Montana.
Who is the State Library
MSL is an agency of the Montana state government. We employ a staff of 50 professionals who are dedicated to providing state-wide library information and support state government information natural resources information and geographic information for all Montanans. We support the development and excellence of Montanas public libraries and reading materials for individuals with visual or physical disabilities. What will you be doing
Montana Shared Catalog Trainer
You will be the subject matter expert that designs materials and curriculum for the Montana Shared Catalog (MSC) Training Program. You will be responsible for creating maintaining and presenting training materials online and onsite for MSC member library staff.

What are we looking for
We are looking for an individual with strong verbal and written communication skills who is skilled in public speaking and can perform in person and online training. You should understand information technology principles and practices be familiar with library administration cataloging and circulation procedures and standards and know how to configure and resolve problems in an integrated library system (ILS).
We require a bachelors degree in education or information technology and 2 years of experience working as a trainer and help desk support. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
Preferred qualifications include experience with instructional design principles learning theories managing an LMS Moodle and experience with library technology and library automation systems.
