Essential Job Duties Join our team as a Roofing Assistant in the Building Maintenance and Operations department , where you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and repairing campus roofing systems. This position performs preventative maintenance, assists roofers with daily projects, and ensures a safe and efficient work environment. Key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to :

• Perform preventative maintenance on roofs , including clearing debris from drains, scuppers, and surfaces
• Inspect and document roof deficiencies , reporting them to the supervisor
• Assist roofers with material delivery, job site preparation , and equipment setup
• Help patch built-up roofs using hot and cold applications
• Support waterproofing efforts for buildings and below-grade structures
• Assist with asphalt patching for streets and caulking expansion joints, belt courses, and coping stones
• Aid in the installation of signs, benches, tables, and fences
• Set up scaffolding, climb ladders, and ensure roofers have the necessary tools and materials
• Maintain cleanliness of gutters and roof surfaces

Other Responsibilities

Qualifications Minimum Experience / Education High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Optional Guidelines : Experience in the Trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Other Required Qualifications
