Position Scope and Organizational Impact

The Project Accountant III at Moss collaborates with the Project team to ensure all project-related accounting is compliant and accurate. Responsibilities include managing comprehensive accounting functions at the project site and supporting other essential tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude and uphold professional ethics aligned with our Core Values.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable to set up new vendors for projects.
  • Review, code, and process A / P invoices; monitor vendor accounts and reconcile statements.
  • Collaborate with Senior Project Accountant on Owner Direct Purchase (ODP) processes.
  • Review ODP invoices, log, and seek approval from the project team, then submit for payment.
  • Follow up on purchase order discrepancies and payment statuses.
  • Manage vendor insurance certificates and ensure compliance with Ebix system.
  • Analyze non-compliance reports, update compliances, and facilitate timely vendor payments.
  • Handle subcontractor lien waivers, payment notifications, and ensure accuracy before release.
  • Assist in preparing owner billing documentation and lien waiver packages.
  • Validate payroll entries in Workday for hourly and salaried staff on alternating schedules.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience

  • Associates or bachelors degree in accounting preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in construction and accounts payable.
  • Detail-oriented with strong multitasking, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under high-volume, deadline-driven conditions.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook; familiarity with construction management software like CMiC, Textura, or Procore is helpful.
  • Experience with ODP programs, COIs, lien waivers, and the construction industry is a plus.
  • Notary certification or ability to obtain one is advantageous.
