Job description

Company Overview : We are a growing timber technologies manufacturer based in Colfax, WI, servicing the building materials and engineered wood marketplace. Our products integrate advanced systems, digital design, and next-generation manufacturing to meet the evolving needs of construction professionals. We seek a dynamic, strategic sales leader to drive national growth, manage channel partnerships, and build a high-performance sales organization.

Position Summary : The Vice President of Sales will lead the sales strategy, execution, and revenue growth for our timber technologies business. This role requires experience in engineered wood, timber, panelized systems, and building materials channels. The ideal candidate will cultivate relationships with architects, developers, distributors, and contractors, create market penetration plans, and drive consistent sales performance across product lines and regions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement the national sales strategy for timber technologies : CLT, glulam, panelized systems, hybrid systems, and related engineered wood products.
  • Grow revenue and margin across direct and indirect channels, including distribution, dealers, A / E firms, and builders.
  • Build, lead and mentor a high-performing sales team; set targets, monitor KPI’s, and ensure team accountability.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, manufacturing, and operations to align product offering, pricing, positioning and delivery.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities, drive new business acquisition, and expand existing relationships.
  • Manage forecasting, territory planning, budgeting and provide regular reporting to the executive team.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings; act as a thought-leader in timber and engineered wood technologies.
  • Ensure the company’s solutions meet customer needs through specification sales support, design-assist activities, and training programs for sales partners.
  • Maintain a customer-first mindset : ensure successful project delivery, maintain customer satisfaction, and develop repeat business.

Key Qualifications :

  • 15+ years of sales leadership experience in building materials, engineered wood, timber technologies, or structural systems industries.
  • Demonstrated success in growing sales revenue and channel development at a national level.
  • Strong understanding of engineered wood systems (CLT, glulam, panelized wall / floor / roof systems) and building materials market dynamics.
  • Proven ability to lead and scale a sales team, with experience in recruiting, developing, and motivating sales professionals.
  • Excellent strategic, analytical and financial acumen; experience with forecasting, margin management, and budgeting.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills : ability to engage with architects, engineers, contractors, and C-level executives.
  • Comfortable with frequent travel and working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred.
