Location : Amarillo, TX 79106 (Texas healthcare jobs)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 10 / 2025 – End : 2 / 9 / 2026)

Shift : Night, 4x12-hour shifts (19 : 00 – 07 : 30)

Hours per Week : 36

Unit : Medical-Surgical – Orthopedic (35 beds)

Patient Ratio : 1 : 6

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1460 - $1500

Documentation : EPIC (recent experience required)

Scrub Color : Any (no logos)

Parking : Free proximal covered parking

Local Traveler Rule : Must reside at least 50 miles from facility

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state)

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg RN experience

BLS and NIHSS certifications (assistance available for NIHSS)

Recent EPIC charting experience (within last 6 months)

Experience with orthopedic and medical-surgical patient populations

Skills in : Isolation Precautions, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Peripheral Line Care / Management, Total Joint Replacements, Wound Care / Wound Vac

Ability to float to units of equal or lesser acuity

First-time travel nurses are welcome

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 35-bed Med / Surg-Ortho unit

Monitor, assess, and document patient status; administer medications and treatments as prescribed

Float to other medical-surgical units as needed

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary

Utilize EPIC for accurate patient documentation

Participate in onsite orientation and complete required modules

Support patient care with Patient Care Technicians, Transporters, and a free-floating charge nurse
