Job Title : Registered Nurse - Oncology Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Hematology-Oncology Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Nights Hours per Shift : 12 Hours Experience : Minimum of 1 year License : Current Registered Nurse License Certifications : - Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration - Oncology Nursing Society - ONS / ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate - Oncology Nursing Society Must-Have : - Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program Description : Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders on assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients and observes their physiological manifestations. Intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients in sharing care plans during their hospital stay and at discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
