About The Role

Arbor Homes, the largest homebuilder in Indiana, is currently looking to hire a Vertical Staff Accountant reporting to the R&R Plumbing location. The right candidate is a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized individual. The candidate will be responsible for managing general accounting operations, reconciling account balances, preparing and monitoring AIA project billings, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations, and supporting the Vertical Controller through the closing process.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Prepare and examine AIA progress billings to ensure accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Perform month end close tasks.
  • Prepare Bank Deposits
  • Reconcile Accounts Receivables and monitor general ledger activity.
  • Maintain and update accounting records and files.
  • Analyze internal purchase orders for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with various departments to support overall business goals.
  • Assist in monthly inventory observation
  • Process receipts of payment with the ability to follow up professionally if needed
  • Provide Additional administrative support as needed
  • Various other projects as assigned

    • What Will You Bring?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong work ethic
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiar with Quickbooks is a plus!
  • Knowledge of construction / trade industry and progress billings is a plus!
