Job description

Summary :

Join our dedicated team as a Respiratory Therapist, where you'll play a vital role in providing pulmonary care for critically ill, non-critical, and chronically ill patients of all ages. You will work under the direction of a physician with minimal supervision, performing various technical and diagnostic procedures throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities :

Exhibit competencies in leadership roles as a Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
Perform essential respiratory therapy tasks, including :

Emergency response for Code Blue and White situations;

Efficient airway management, including both nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning;

Administration of aerosolized medications;

Ventilator setup and operation;

Oral hygiene for patients in respiratory distress;

Placement and maintenance of airway retention devices;

Manage airway support devices such as BiPAP and CPAP;

Implement oxygen delivery protocols and therapeutic monitoring;

Analyze chest films as needed;

Collect and interpret blood gas samples;

Conduct EKG analysis;

Document all actions accurately and comprehensively;

Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and supplies;

Participate actively in CAP and JC surveys.

Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) may take on roles as Shift Leader or Team Leader as needed.

Advanced practice skills may include :

Management and monitoring of therapeutic gases, including INO and HeO2;

Conducting Pulmonary Function Testing;

Assisting in bronchoscopy procedures;

Performing hemodynamic monitoring;

Interpreting waveform analysis;

Evaluating nocturnal SpO2 levels through desaturation studies.

Job Requirements : Education / Skills :

Must meet applicable licensure and certification standards.

Experience :

Preferred 2 - 3 years of relevant experience.

Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications :

Active RCP License in the state of employment is required.

BLS certification is mandatory.

CRT certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required.

Work Schedule : 7 PM - 7 AM

Work Type : Per Diem As Needed
