PRN Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Join our dedicated team at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital, where we prioritize exceptional patient care in our Geriatric Behavioral Health department.

Position Type : PRN (As Needed)

Flexible Schedule : 2 shifts per month, including 1 weekend shift and 1 holiday each year. Evening, night, and weekend shifts may offer shift differentials.

Key Responsibilities :

• Conduct thorough admitting and shift assessments on assigned patients, ensuring accurate documentation within specified timeframes.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze patient data and inform physicians of any changes in patient conditions.
• Collaborate in the development and evaluation of multidisciplinary treatment plans.
• Document all nursing care provided, adhering to the highest nursing standards.
• Implement physicians' orders with precision and accuracy.
• Ensure patient and environmental safety through continuous assessment.
• Provide guidance and supervision to LPNs and nursing techs.
• Educate patients and families based on their specific needs, documenting all educational interactions.
• Incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care, aligning with age-specific and clinical needs.
• Exhibit professionalism and ethical standards in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
• Maintain a high level of alertness to ensure the safety of all patients.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
