Job description

Barrington James is working on behalf of a leading Contract Research Organization (CRO) to recruit a Principal Investigator (PI) for a fully onsite position based in Connecticut. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed physician with a passion for clinical research to take on a leadership role in conducting cutting-edge clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Serve as the medical lead for clinical trials, ensuring participant safety and protocol compliance.
  • Conduct eligibility assessments and oversee study-related medical evaluations.
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to the clinical research team.
  • Review and sign off on case report forms (CRFs), adverse events (AEs), and other regulatory documentation.
  • Act as the primary liaison with study sponsors, IRBs, and regulatory authorities.
  • Support site activities during monitoring visits, audits, and inspections.

Key Requirements :

  • Active medical license in the state of Connecticut (required).
  • Board certified in a relevant specialty.
  • Preferred background in Internal Medicine or Endocrinology.
  • 25 years of experience as a Principal Investigator in clinical research (candidates with no prior PI experience but a strong desire to enter the field will also be considered).
