Security Officer
The Medical Center Security Officer provides security services for Care Team Members, patients, visitors, and our Medical Facilities. The Security Officer must have the ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with our Care Team Members and the public. Must have knowledge of security practices and protocols. The Medical Center Security Officer position involves shiftwork and some overtime.

The Security Officer must have a high school diploma and one year of relevant experience (Security, Law Enforcement, Fire Service, Emergency Medical Service, Behavioral Health, Counselor, Education, or Military). A Bachelor's degree or other relevant certifications may be substituted for the required work experience. Must obtain and be able to maintain the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety certification (IAHSS) within the first year of employment. Must have a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, and walking. Ability to climb stairs, work indoors, and work outside in temperature extremes. Ability to work from elevated areas and in confined / cramped spaces. Ability to perform "pinching" operations, gross motor activities, and fine manipulation. Ability to reach overhead and perform repetitive motions. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted. Ability to maintain 20 / 40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. Ability to match or discriminate between colors. Ability to determine distance / relationship between objects; depth perception. Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations. Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required. Ability to work in a latex safe environment. Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions. Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function (selected positions). Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required (selected positions).
