Building Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Building Engineer to support the Assistant / Chief Engineer and Senior Facilities Manager in the daily maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of building systems. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and energy efficiency of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across the facility. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying and addressing issues, minimizing downtime, and maintaining accurate records of operational performance.
Assist the Assistant / Chief Engineer and Senior Facilities Manager with daily maintenance and repair activities.
Conduct routine inspections, operations, and preventive maintenance on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently, implementing proactive measures to reduce downtime.
Perform maintenance and repairs on building interiors and exteriors, including walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting.
Maintain documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and repair histories.
Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and general troubleshooting.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial building maintenance or engineering.
Strong interpersonal skills with experience in client-facing interactions.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA. Pay and benefits are subject to eligibility requirements and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
