Pay Rate : $22–$24 per hour , depending on experience
Job Overview
The Temporary / Relief Pharmacy Technician will support daily
operations at the Central Fill Pharmacy (CFP) located in Sacramento, CA. Under
the direction of the Pharmacist-in-Charge, Pharmacist, or designee, the
technician will perform technical pharmacy tasks within the legal scope of
practice and in accordance with federal and state regulations, as well as
institutional policies and procedures.
Service Delivery Requirements
The Temporary / Relief Pharmacy Technician shall provide
services as permitted within the scope of practice, including but not limited
to the following :
Receive prescription / medical orders.
Obtain information on new patients / youth to
establish medical profiles, such as diagnosis or desired therapeutic outcome,
allergies, adverse reactions, and medical history.
Assess prescription / medication orders for
completeness, correctness, authenticity, and legality.
Enter prescription information into the
patient / youth profile.
Calibrate equipment needed to prepare or
compound prescriptions / medication orders.
Compound medications for dispensing according to
prescription formulas or instructions.
Measure or count finished dosage forms for
dispensing.
Record the preparation of medications in various
dosage forms.
Record preparation of controlled substances for
dispensing.
Package prepared medications.
Prepare and affix labels and auxiliary labels to
containers.
Perform intermediate checks of
prescriptions / medication orders during processing.
Maintain drug and supply inventory, including
inventory records.
Deliver medication to clinics / nursing staff and
organize medication as needed.
Review pharmacy stock for expired medications.
Assist the Pharmacist-in-Charge, Pharmacist, or
designee in identifying and resolving issues related to patient / youth therapy.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Active
Pharmacy Technician license / certification as required by state law.
Experience
in a retail, hospital, or central fill pharmacy setting preferred.
Strong
attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability
to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge
of pharmacy automation, inventory systems, and medication preparation
processes preferred.
