Laundry Processor
This position is responsible for the handling of soiled laundry and processing that laundry through a series of steps to clean and disinfect. They will also sort, fold and run laundry machines in processing the linen. Additionally, they will also distribute the clean linen throughout the care site.
Essential Functions
- Collect soiled linen through the care site and return it to the laundry room for processing
- Loads and unloads washing machines
- Operates the washing machine and additional machines used in processing the laundry
- Sorts and fold linen to be placed on linen carts or in storage areas
- Accurately weigh in and out all hospital owned linen, mops, etc. and record weights in a timely manner
- Deliver linen to units throughout the care site in a timely manner
- Deliver on demand requested linen as needed
- Provide cleaning duties as needed based on staffing, patient loads, and time constraints
