Backend Engineer

Core Responsibilities

Design and build systems to accurately track API usage and billing events.

Implement integrations with usage-tracking platforms (e.g., Orb, Metronome) and payment processors (e.g., Stripe).

Develop internal and customer-facing dashboards for billing insights and usage analytics.

Build APIs for authentication, user management, and customer integrations.

Ensure billing accuracy, scalability, and reliability.

Requirements

3+ years experience as a backend engineer.

Strong programming skills in Python or Go.

Experience designing REST APIs.

Familiarity with event-driven systems (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub / Sub).

Comfortable working with PostgreSQL and / or time-series databases.

Nice-to-Have

Previous experience with billing and payment platforms (Stripe, Orb, Metronome).

Experience building customer-facing dashboards (React / Next.js).

Knowledge of multi-tenant architectures.
