About the Role

We are seeking an Associate Attorney & Local Office Leader to establish and manage our Newark, Ohio office. This position blends legal practice, leadership, and community engagement, offering the opportunity to grow a thriving legal presence while helping Newark and Licking County flourish.

The ideal candidate is an experienced attorney with leadership potential someone who loves connecting with people, mentoring staff, and using the law to uplift clients and their community.

Key Responsibilities

Community & Client Advocacy

• Represent individuals, families, and businesses in your focus area with care, precision, and integrity.

Build strong local relationships through civic, nonprofit, and community involvement.

Serve as an ambassador for EQUES, promoting our mission of community-minded legal service.

Office Leadership & Management

Supervise and mentor paralegals, legal assistants, and administrative staff.

Maintain firm culture and uphold EQUES standards of client service and communication.

Collaborate with firm leadership to meet growth and service goals.

Business Development

Participate in marketing and outreach efforts designed to strengthen community trust.

Track matter economics, projections, and client satisfaction metrics.

Legal Practice

Communicate clearly about case progress, expectations, and fees.

Deliver exceptional advocacy and results through preparation and compassion.

Qualifications

35+ years of legal experience (litigation or transactional)

Proven leadership and management ability

Strong communication, organization, and delegation skills

Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for growth and service

Tech-savvy and adaptable with modern case management tools
