Settlements Intermediate Associate Analyst
This is a hybrid role based in Houston, TX. This position will require a minimum of three days a week in-office. The Settlements Intermediate Associate Analyst is responsible for providing support across various commodities products, specializing in US Power Market settlements, reconciliations, and issue resolution. The overall objective of this role is to support traders, perform invoicing and payments, and improve process efficiency in overall workflow. You will have the opportunity to recommend creative suggestions on how to improve processes to minimize losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risk better serve our clients. Responsibilities :
- Accurate and timely processing of invoicing / payments of all transactions and according to their legal agreements
- Ensure ISO invoices are reconciled, processed, and paid on time
- Provide support by performing invoicing as well as pre and post settlement reconciliations
- Support curtailment process by working with direct upstream and downstream to resolve curtailments
- Interact with external counterparties to resolve discrepancies
- Interact with internal stakeholders as required including front office, middle office, or confirmations as needed to resolve discrepancies
- Provide in-depth analysis of variances between booked and client amounts
- Participate in team and / or individual projects
- Identify optimization and time saving opportunities
- Work with other teams across the company to implement and improve processes and systems supporting the activities above
- Support implementation of commodity settlement processing improvements
- Assist with identifying policy gaps and formulating policies that streamline related work processes
- Develop and use knowledge of commodities, processing practices, and standards
- Provide informal guidance or on the job training to lower level / new settlement processing team members when required
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications :
Understanding of North America power industry1-3 years' experience in the power market, including familiarity with ISOsBusiness oriented professional with strong intellect who can problem solve and perform complex analysisDetail-oriented self-starter with strong analytical, critical thinking and communication skills who can effectively manage multiple assignmentsAbility to work independentlyOrganized individual who can plan and adjust to the timing challenges of multiple deadlinesWork in a team environment to achieve goalsEducation :
