Job Summary :
Seeking a skilled Automation Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and reliability of our automation, conveyance, and sortation systems. In this critical role, you’ll help ensure equipment runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity in our fast-paced distribution facility.
Job Duties :
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on automation, sortation, and material handling systems to maintain optimal performance and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Respond swiftly to equipment issues, using technical knowledge to troubleshoot and restore operations quickly and effectively.
- Collaborate with Operations leadership to schedule maintenance during shift changes, breaks, or other windows of opportunity to minimize disruption.
- Complete repairs and maintenance on a variety of facility systems and equipment as needed.
- Work across multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, basic electrical, sheet metal work, and welding.
- Conduct routine inspections to proactively identify potential equipment failures and ensure long-term equipment health.
- Apply reliability best practices in line with Medtronic’s Facilities Maintenance Excellence strategy.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to track work orders, maintenance history, and equipment data.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of 4 years of relevant maintenance experience in an industrial, distribution, or fulfillment center environment.Hands-on experience with warehouse robotics systems, automated shipping sorters, material handling equipment, and conveyors.Strong troubleshooting skills, including the use of multimeters for diagnosing power and control issues.Proficiency with CMMS platforms.EPA Universal Certification is a plus.Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
