The facility has 337 licensed beds and is a designated Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center. The unit has 34 beds with an average census of 32 patients. Patient ratios are 1 : 5 during the day and 1 : 6 at night. Common patient diagnoses include ESRD, CHF, pneumonia, sickle cell crisis, diabetes / DKA, and both acute and chronic renal failure. Support personnel within the department includes CNAs, a charge nurse, phlebotomy services, and a dedicated hospitalist. Nurse educators and clinical nurse specialists are available. Technology in use includes EMR and various medical devices. Travelers may be required to float within region and scope of practice. Weekends will be scheduled every other week, with holiday expectations of working 75% of holidays. RTO may be approved for up to 6 days off, excluding holidays.
