Job Summary :
As a key member of the Cath Lab, you will plan, coordinate, and implement care for adult patients while ensuring quality and safety in line with our unit's standards. Your skills will be vital in delivering outstanding patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Serve as a crucial part of the Cath Lab procedure team in roles such as circulator, scrub, or monitor.
- Prepare patients effectively for procedures, ensuring timely acquisition of necessary information like history and physical assessments.
- Utilize critical judgment to perform patient assessments, administer medications, and promptly report any abnormal findings to the physician.
- Execute safe hemostasis practices, utilizing vascular devices as needed.
- Accurately enter patient orders and charges, ensuring consistency and correctness.
- Provide critical care with confidence, even in high-pressure situations.
- Educate patients and families according to evaluated needs, documenting education and keeping them informed about tests and treatments.
- Escort family members to the cardiology or Cath Lab areas, when necessary.
- Conduct point-of-care testing according to established policies and procedures.
- Maintain a constant state of alertness and safe practice while performing other assigned duties.
Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited nursing school or equivalent educational background for licensing.No prior experience required.Physical Requirements :
Ability to communicate effectively in various circumstances including constant standing and walking.Capability to lift / carry and push / pull objects weighing 0-25 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.Frequent use of vision, depth perception, and hearing to assess patient conditions and ensure safety protocols.Occasional patient handling, bending, and driving may be required.Licensure and Certifications :
Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association.Registered Professional Nurse (RN) licensure from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation or relevant state bodies, depending on your primary work location.Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from the American Heart Association.Work Schedule :
Day Shift; full-time position with 40 scheduled weekly hours.
