Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Scrub Tech First Assistant to support safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care across a range of operative procedures. Working under the direct supervision of the surgeon, the First Assistant ensures a safe operating room environment, maintains proper functioning of equipment, and provides advanced intraoperative support that enhances patient safety and procedural flow.

The First Assistant assists by anticipating the needs of the surgical team, managing instruments and supplies, ensuring proper patient positioning, and applying advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and surgical technique. Responsibilities include providing visualization of the surgical site, assisting with hemostasis, aiding in closure of body planes, and supporting overall procedural progression.

The assistant must only perform duties while the surgeon is physically present within the OR suite footprint (OR / ASU / PACU). Independent direction of other personnel or functioning as a circulating nurse is not permitted.
