Math Interventionist
The Guadalupe Centers Charter Schools serves 1600 students ranging from PreK-12 and is a free, open-enrollment public charter school. Over 96% of our students are Latinx. Our school system consists of Guadalupe Centers High School, Guadalupe Centers Middle School, and Guadalupe Centers Elementary School. Our system grew out of Guadalupe Centers' educational programming. Guadalupe Centers is the longest continuously operating agency serving the Latinx community in the US since 1919. Our roots in our community run deep.

Summary : The Math Interventionist provides strategies for teaching and supporting students in their mathematical skills needed to learn complex mathematical concepts.

Responsibilities / Duties :
Instructional Responsibilities :
Provides direct instruction to students identified as eligible for math services in individual, and / or small group settings.Uses identified needs to guide the learning process toward student achievement of the district's math content standards. Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects using formal and informal assessment data obtained from students.Uses a variety of manipulatives and hands-on activities to support content standards and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.Creates a classroom environment and research-based program of study that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.Classroom Responsibilities :
Provides written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, administrative guidelines, or specific program requirements.Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.Make provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.Conducts or participates in needed parent conferences and telephone conferences.Assessment responsibilities :Conducts student assessments to identify those eligible for intervention services, to plan instruction, and / or to assist staff members in learning various assessment techniques. Assess the accomplishments of students regularly and provide progress reports as requiredCollaborates, as needed, with appropriate district / campus personnel regarding students who may need specialized interventions.Other duties as assigned by the Principal or his / her designee.Professional Development Responsibilities :
Strives to maintain and improve professional competence through professional development activities.Participates in discussions or activities focused on using research to improve math.Participates in staff development focused on the delivery of math intervention and assessment.Provides professional development on research-based mathematical instruction and assessment, on occasionRequired Skills / Abilities :
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.Committed to working with under-served students.Education and Experience :
Three to four years of experience in Math Instruction is preferred.Bilingual ability; English required and Spanish preferred.Highly Qualified Status (this status requires the following) ...Bachelor's Degree.Appropriate certification for the course / grade level being taught.Documentation of content expertise in the area being taught.Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the school and classroom.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed.Application Process :
