Manages a team of Engineering Technicians assigning work, defining responsibilities, monitoring team performance and aligning activities to fulfill business objectives, primarily focused on the short term needs of the business. Provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports.

Nationality Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.

Job Description

Manage a specific group of the Mechanical and Electrical Technicians in the Engineering Department for Columbia City. Group could expand to other engineering support staff. Position reports to the UM US Senior Manager, Mechanical Engineering.

Provide leadership that fosters team progress, takes the initiative on challenging assignments, promotes employee development, and creates opportunity for growth across disciplines.

• Provide strong engineering and management skills. These duties would include the direction and supervision of mechanical and electrical engineering support tasking for technicians.

Required skills : \n

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering acceptable

CAD tools (Solidworks strongly preferred)

Typically, a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in a related field and 3+ years of experience within a relevant complex engineering environment and 1 + years leadership experience.\nMay be required to maintain security clearance.
