Manager - Business Planning role at Avangrid

The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from : $138,343 to $172,929 in CT; $125,766 to $157,208 in NY.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the headcount governance across the Networks business. The role works across Avangrid Networks and with Iberdrola counterparts on initiatives aligned with Networks strategies & priorities. It prepares materials, reports, and analysis for Governance Bodies and Networks meetings, and supports the CEO and Operating Company Presidents by tracking Networks and Presidents objectives. The position also manages the Planning & Regulatory Economics external services budgets and leads a team. It reports directly to the Senior Director of Business Planning and Services and is located in Orange, CT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team including performance management, mentoring, coaching, inspiring, and engaging a team. Accountable for departmental results and ongoing development of team members. (20%)
  • Manage headcount tracking and evaluation activities, partnering with People & Organization and Networks teams to provide analysis of actuals vs budget, rate cases, and identify budget / Revenue risks. Summarize key drivers of budget variances and recommend actions to Networks Leadership. (20%)
  • Develop presentations, communications, and reports for the Avangrid Management Committee meetings, Networks CEO Governance Management Committee Meetings, and Networks and AVANGRID Board Meetings. (20%)
  • Manage and track all matters related to annual Networks objectives achievement, including identifying issues, concerns, or risks related to goal achievement. (15%)
  • Serve within the Planning & Regulatory Economics organization, coordinating strategic projects, evaluating, and implementing best practices across the different areas and jurisdictions. Participate in Networks-wide projects supporting Global initiatives or Networks CEO-driven initiatives. (10%)
  • Coordinate budget and analysis for Planning & Regulatory Economics external services. (5%)
  • As needed, participate in initiatives related to Networks budgets, long-term outlook preparation, rate case testimony and analysis, business cases, and industry benchmarking. (10%)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience performing operational financial analysis with responsibility for managing large cross-functional efforts and a proven track record of process improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field with emphasis on critical thinking and analytic skills.
  • Strong technical, analytical, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Power Point, Word, Power BI).
  • Strategic mindset and ability to synthesize information and communicate key elements at a senior leadership / executive level.
  • Proven ability to collaborate, influence, and get work done with / executive levels, demonstrating credibility and integrity.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or other post-graduate degree preferred.
  • IFRS financial experience is a plus.
