Overview :

FieldLink is a network infrastructure staffing company helping people find rewarding careers in the Telecom and Low Voltage Industry . We specialize in customized staffing partnerships with industry leading integrators responsible for large commercial projects and government contracts nation-wide.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Installation of Security Systems (Cameras, Maglocks, and Card Readers).
  • Installation and troubleshooting of various Access Control components such as panels, readers, strikes, mag locks, etc.
  • Installation and troubleshooting of IP and analog cameras and NVRs.
  • Basic understanding of CCTV client software installation (PC and mobile) and configuration such as adding / deleting cameras, setting recording schedules, retrieving footage, etc.
  • Basic understanding of access control interfaces such as adding / deleting credentials, setting door schedules, configuring access levels, etc.
  • Basic IP networking skills (switches and routers, configuring port forwarding, etc.).
  • Installation and termination of security low voltage cabling (22 / 4, 20 / 4, CAT 5 / E, CAT 6).
  • Termination of CAT 5 / E and CAT 6.
  • Dress and route cable from IT closets to device locations (Cameras, Maglocks, Card Readers).
  • Build out Security equipment racks.
  • Cable pathway installation (J-hooks, D-rings).
  • Cable management (dressing and labeling).
  • Utilize computer programs including word processing, spreadsheets and databases; CCTV and access control systems; media storage.
  • Read and follow blueprints set for installation.
  • Follow written and oral communication displaying professionalism with colleagues and management.
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols (Proper PPE, clean up jobsite, OSHA).

Job Requirements :

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
  • 3 years of commercial Security installation.
  • 3 years of Access Control installation.
  • 1 years of IP addressing and troubleshooting.
  • Security Manufacturer / Product Certifications preferred.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Active OSHA 10 preferred.
  • Scissor / Boom Lift Certification preferred.
  • Physical Requirement : Must be able to work on a ladder and / or scissor lift, in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and move up to 75 pounds. Ability to work on your feet for entire shift.
  • Tools : Basic Hand Tools : screwdriver (multi-Bit), tape measure, snips, pliers (needle nose and channel locks) , punch down tool, flashlight, work boots (steel toe or composite toe) gloves and tool pouch.
