Fleet Diesel Mechanic

ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has an immediate opening for a Fleet Diesel Mechanic to support operations at the Ready Mix Plant located in Tonawanda, NY. The Fleet Diesel Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and / or machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting, routine servicing, and collaboration with the maintenance team to minimize equipment downtime and support continuous operations.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting on diesel engines and complex hydraulic systems to identify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Conduct comprehensive repairs and rebuilds of diesel engines, transmissions, and rotary equipment components using specialized tools and diagnostic software.
• Execute routine and preventive maintenance schedules to ensure fleet reliability, safety compliance, and peak performance of heavy-duty vehicles and machinery.
• Oversee calibration and adjustment of engine controls, fuel injection systems, and emission control devices to meet manufacturer and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with maintenance supervisors to develop repair plans, estimate repair costs, and order necessary parts and materials efficiently.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspect safety systems, and ensure all repairs comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors
• Other duties as assigned.
