This leader will own day-to-day clinical lab operations, regulatory compliance, performance management, and long-term strategic growth. The role requires deep knowledge of CAP, state, and federal regulations, strong people leadership, and a track record of optimizing high-volume clinical laboratories.
🧠 How You'll Contribute
- Lead overall strategy and daily operations for high-volume clinical laboratories
- Monitor and manage performance against budgets, productivity, and key operational metrics
- Analyze operational and financial data to inform business decisions and optimize resource allocation
- Ensure compliance with CAP, federal, and state regulatory standards and readiness for inspections
- Direct development, expansion, and implementation of new lab services and projects
- Oversee successful transitions across lab platforms, instruments, or information systems
- Mentor and develop lab managers and emerging leaders; build a high-performance culture
- Support training, competency assessment, and quality assurance / quality control programs
- Drive continuous improvement in turnaround time, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction
- Resolve internal and external customer concerns promptly and effectively
- Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical, operations, finance, and IT stakeholders for aligned outcomes
- Maintain robust documentation, SOPs, and performance reporting for leadership and regulatory bodies
🧬 What Makes You a Great Fit
Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or a related field (required)Minimum 8 years of leadership experience within a clinical laboratory of comparable complexityDemonstrated success managing platform or system transitions within lab environmentsStrong understanding of CAP requirements and applicable federal and state regulationsActive Medical Technologist registry (ASCP, AMT, AAB, or equivalent)Florida Supervisor License in Microbiology or as a Generalist preferred (must be obtained upon relocation if not already held)Masters degree in business administration or life sciences preferredProven ability to manage budgets, staffing models, and productivity targetsExperience leading quality systems, competency, and accreditation readinessExcellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsData-driven decision-making with proficiency in operational analytics and reportingTrack record of driving continuous improvement, change management, and team development🎉 Perks & Benefits
