American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with strong fetal monitoring skills and a valid MO or compact license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit that also houses postpartum carePatient population includes antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum mothers, as well as high-risk patientsUnit consists of 28 rooms and 33 beds, with 11 labor rooms and 5 triage rooms; postpartum unit has 15 rooms and 2 flex roomsAverage daily census is 7-10 births per dayNurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1 : 1, with variations to 1 : 2 or 1 : 3 for antepartum or cervical ripening based on acuityMinimum of 4-5 weekend shifts required every 6 weeks, with specific Sunday night and Friday day shift obligationsTwo on-call shifts required per 6-week schedule periodFloating may be required to postpartum / couplet care within scope of practicePeriWatch fetal monitoring application and Phillips Avalon fetal monitors are usedDay shifts are 3x12 hours from 6 : 45 to 19 : 15Responsibilities include managing laboring mothers, supporting deliveries, providing postpartum and newborn care, administering medications, and responding to emergenciesLDRP experience highly preferred but LD / LDR experienced candidates will be consideredEpic EMR training and testing must be completed prior to startPre-employment modules and clinical orientation are requiredNo travel partners accepted for this assignmentNo more than 7 days of RTO (requested time off) allowedApplicants must live at least 75 miles from the facility; locals are not acceptedAll required labs and drug screening must be completed prior to startFirst-time travelers will not be considered\n \n Requirements\n
Active Missouri or compact RN license requiredMinimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience, with at least 1 year in specialty within the past 12 monthsCurrent certifications in BLS, FHM, and NRP requiredProficiency in antepartum and intrapartum care, electronic fetal monitoring (EFM), and postpartum careExperience with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, VBAC, multiple gestation, and management of obstetric emergencies requiredCompetence in use and interpretation of PeriWatch and fetal monitoring devices requiredAbility to float within scope to postpartum unit when neededTwo professional references from the past year, including one supervisor and one charge RN\n Benefits\n
