Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position in Ohio, requiring a compact or OH RN license and strong cardiac and telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a lower acuity cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00–07 : 30)
  • Patient ratio is estimated at 1 : 3
  • Requires weekend and rotating holiday coverage
  • Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
  • Uses Epic EMR, Epic experience required
  • Primary responsibilities include caring for cardiac patients with lower acuity needs
  • All candidates must complete required fingerprinting promptly upon contract signing
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
  • Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for travel positions
  • All time off or schedule requests must be provided upfront
  • First time travelers accepted
  • Scrub requirements and details on orientation will be provided upon assignment

    • Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years PCU experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Proficiency with IV starts and telemetry required
  • Experience with Epic charting system is mandatory
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Submission of two professional references, one from a manager, director, or supervisor, is required
  • Former employees must have a 6 month gap from prior employment at the facility to be eligible
