Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Flex Pool team, supporting multiple medical and surgical units. This role is ideal for a clinically strong RN who thrives in dynamic environments and is comfortable floating to different units based on staffing and patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care across designated medical and surgical departments.

Float between the Medical Unit, Surgical Acute Unit (Laulima), and occasionally the Cardiovascular Unit.

Perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on care plans.

Operate unit equipment including Meditech EMR, Pyxis systems, wound vac equipment, and chest tubes.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation while adhering to professional and regulatory standards.

Adapt to unit-specific workflows and respond effectively to varying acuity levels.

Shift & Scheduling

12-hour Day shifts : 0645–1915

Scheduled 36 hours per week after initial orientation

No guarantee of hours ; flexibility is required

Orientation provided for all assigned units

Medical Unit

77 beds

Ratios : Days / Eves 1 : 6

Nights 1 : 8

Surgical Acute Unit (Laulima)

18 beds

Ratio : 1 : 6

Cardiovascular Unit

15 beds

Ratio : 1 : 4

Staffing ratios may vary due to unexpected absences.

Requirements

Experience

2–10 years of acute care experience

Strong med-surg and step-down skills

Licensure & Certifications

Active RN license (HI license required before assignment begins; must apply immediately upon offer)

BLS and ACLS required

Preferred : PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC

Compliance

Medical and religious exemptions not accepted in lieu of documented immunity

Must arrive Thursday before orientation for employee health clearance on Friday

Additional Details

Maximum submissions per job : 3

Holiday coverage required

EMR : EPIC

Dress code : Professional nursing attire; clean scrubs required
