What are the Key Responsibilities of this role?

Capex Projects

  • Co-ordinating all Capex requirements from internal and external customers in order to set the capital agenda for 1- and 5-year plans and budgets.
  • Delivery of all projects identified within the US Capex programme, on time, safely on budget and within legislative constraints at country and state level.
  • Leading, developing and managing direct reports through coaching, support and training in order to deliver key projects.
  • Manage core OEM relationships and keep up to speed with advancements in technology to enable competitive advantage for the organisation.
  • Manage the project life cycle end-end through specification / scope of works development, tendering, contract development, order placement, cost management, implementation, handover and closure.

Factory Support

  • Work with the Plant Manager and the factory engineering teams daily to provide expertise and inputs into complex technical issues and the development of robust engineering practices.
  • Work with the factory teams to manage operational improvement programmes (i.e. material supplier changes, new product introductions etc.)

    • People Management

  • Coaching and development of direct reporting roles

    • Safety

  • Implement all projects to the highest standards of corporate and legislative safety with clear control of contractors through robust risk assessments, method statements and audit programs.
  • Work with the Plant Manager and the factory teams to champion site safety and the required practices.

    • Requirements

    What are the Critical success factors for the Role ?

  • 10+ years minimum experience in FMCG environment
  • Proven track record in implementing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing programmes
  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Process)
  • Professional project management qualification (PRINCE II, APM etc.)
  • Proven track record of implementing high value Capex contracts up to $20m
  • Proven track record of delivering safety metrics including recognized safety qualification
  • Experience in researching and implementing complex strategic and operational projects
  • Proven track record of composing detailed specifications, acceptance criteria and contract development
  • Proven track record of developing business cases and cost benefit analysis
  • Proven track record of leading and managing cross functional teams not in your direct control
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent levels of planning and organisation
  • Great attention to detail and high standards relating to installations
  • Great levels of collaboration and influencing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
