Staff Accountant

Position Summary :

Methode Electronics is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the general ledger accounting operations of its US Shared Service Center including preparation of journal entries reconciliations footnote disclosures and financial statement fluctuation analysis. This role will work closely with others in the US Shared Service Center to maintain the companys financial records and ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded. The Staff Accountant will be hands-on in preparing a variety of assignments related to the monthly quarterly and annual accounting close to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining compliance with internal policies U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control requirements. Position Responsibilities :

• Assist with preparing journal entries account reconciliations accruals capitalize fixed assets and intercompany transactions to ensure accurate and complete legal entity reporting within the companys close timeline.
• Ensure the accuracy of entries to general ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
• Execute month-end close tasks to ensure a timely close process.
• Update the close checklists and account reconciliations during the close cycle to track timely completion and signoffs.
• Provide data to support daily close reporting dashboards to management with close status along with any other pertinent updates.
• Assist with weekly payroll journal entries and reconciling payroll-related accrual accounts.
• Maintain and reconcile corporate fixed asset system including tracking of aged construction in process (CIP) and tooling for timely capitalization.
• Assists with monthly intercompany reconciliations for all global divisions.
• Collaborate with global finance teams to obtain an understanding of business transaction flows and relationships across legal entities.
• Assist with SEC reporting requirements (10-Q 10-K 8-K proxy etc.) by providing schedules analyses and footnote support.
• Assist with external auditors and manage audit requests to ensure timely completion of quarterly reviews and the annual audit.
• Support strong internal controls over financial reporting and ensure compliance with SOX 404 requirements.
• Support the implementation of global accounting policies aligned with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulatory requirements as needed.
• Support consistent standards and operational excellence in the US and corporate accounting operations.
• Be a team player with a collaborative approach to resolving matters.
• Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications :

The base pay hiring rate expected for this position is : $ 56100.0-66000.0

This position is eligible to participate in an incentive and level of participation are determined annually.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location job-related knowledge skills and experience. Hourly employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
