Customer Account Specialist

Description

Under supervision performs a variety of clerical fiscal and customer support tasks including the processing of utility bills; provides support to the Citys water wastewater solid waste and other City provided municipal services. Exercises no supervision.

Examples of Duties

Examples of duties may include but are not limited to the following :

• Provides telephone customer service for water wastewater solid waste and other city services;
• Processes the activation and / or termination of utility services;
• Assists customers with inquiries and generates work orders for field personnel;
• Collects and records payments reviews customer usage and billing accounts to ensure accuracy of payments assists customers with payment adjustment eligibility and calculates figures and amounts;
• Assists customers with water outages and water quality concerns including requirements of City policies; encourages participation in and provides information on water conservation assistance programs rebates and recycling programs;
• Reconciles Roll-off reports daily adds roll-off charges to customer accounts processes bin requests for special events;
• Renews and processes applications for dog licenses and permits;
• Maintains route management system for commercial solid waste customers;
• Provides back up support to front counter customer service technicians including maintaining and balancing assigned cash drawers;
• Performs a variety of general administrative support duties including preparing and maintaining files and records entering data into a computerized system maintaining customer accounts and writing routine correspondence; and
• Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
