Lab Technician - Film Extrusion - Base Salary to 90k / year - Sheboygan, WI

Our client is looking for a Lab Technician to join their team. This is key role in product development, polymer film extrusion, compounding, formulation, testing, data analysis, project execution, and report generation.

Responsibilities :

Operate and refine extrusion processes for polyolefin films and sheets.

Perform co-extrusion of different resins using methods such as cast, blown, extrusion coating, and lamination.

Carry out polymer compounding with equipment like single / twin-screw extruders, Banbury mixers, Brabenders, and kneaders.

Develop polymer blends incorporating various additives.

Conduct material testing for adhesion, clarity, gel content, color, heat seal strength, and physical properties.

Design and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality.

Interpret data and prepare comprehensive technical reports.

Qualifications :

A bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer technology, or a related discipline is preferred.

5+years of experience in polymer extrusion and compounding.

Candidates with an associate degree and 10+ years in the film industry will also be considered.

Skilled in polyolefin film and sheet co-extrusion involving different resin types.

Proficient in extrusion methods such as cast, blown, coating, and lamination.

Knowledgeable in polymer compounding using single- and twin-screw extruders and similar equipment.

Practical experience with polymer testing and analytical techniques.

Strong command of Microsoft Office tools.

Understanding of equipment startup, purging, and shutdown procedures.

Compensation :

Base salary in the 75k - 95k / year
