Assistant Director of Annual Giving - Development Services

Minimum Qualifications :

Associate's degree in business administration, communications, or related field and three years of related experience; or five years of related experience to include customer service. An equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role may be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Three years of additional related experience.

Job Summary :

Responsible for assisting with fund-raising programs designed to secure annual (renewable) gifts from individuals, alumni, foundations, and / or corporations. Will work under the direction of the Senior Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving.

Job Duties :

Responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of annual gifts for the unit (non-donors with a capacity of $250,000 and below; gifts that are renewable and may be comprised of cash and or pledges).

Plan, develop, and execute multi-channel solicitation campaigns, including direct mail, email, social media, and phone outreach.

In conjunction with the Senior Director, help plan and execution of UTMB’s annual Day of Giving, including marketing strategy, campus engagement and donor acquisition.

Provide regular reports on giving trends, membership renewals, and campaign effectiveness.

Manage all appeal codes, packages, and segmentation within Raiser's Edge for tracking and reporting purposes.

Manage various alumni volunteer programs for their routine board meetings throughout the year.

Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.

Performs related duties as required

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :

Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism, competence, and integrity in dealing with a variety of individuals, including university administrators, faculty, alumni, and institutional donors.

Experience in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding annual giving gifts from individuals.

Proven skills in annual giving fundraising, interpersonal communications, and project planning and execution.

Maintain and process all annual and lifetime membership practices and standards.

Demonstrated experience in Word, Excel, and Outlook required. Experience in PowerPoint and a constituent database is preferred.

Actively engage in new donor cultivation through prospect outreach, relationship-building activities, and targeted events.

Salary Range :

Actual salary commensurate with experience.
