About The Position

🔹 Locum OB / GYN Hospitalist | 24-Hour Holiday Shift | Start Dec 24 | Iowa

Job Type : Locum Tenens

Location : Des Moines, Iowa

Start Date : December 24, 2025

Shift : 24-hour shift (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 AM)

Setting : Inpatient – OB Emergency Department (OBED)

EMR : Epic

Holiday Rate : $4,000 + per 24-hour shift (this is a holiday rate, 24HR CALL PAY WILL BE COMPARATIVELY LOWER)

🔸 Schedule & Call Details :

24-hour in-house shift : 7 AM – 7 AM

Providers may not work more than two consecutive 24-hour shifts

On-call 24 / 7 during scheduled shift

Holiday coverage required (this opening is for Christmas Eve / Day)

No telehealth

🔸 Facility & Volume Info :

OBED : 8-bed emergency department for obstetrics

Annual OBED visits : ~1,389

Deliveries : ~463 annually

Imaging, lab, and pharmacy available onsite

No APP supervision required

🔸 Key Responsibilities :

Manage OBED patients, including walk-ins and triage

Deliveries : vaginal and C-sections

Care for patients without a designated OB / GYN

Support the only maternity transport team in the state

🔸 Requirements :

Board Certified in OB / GYN (will consider truly board eligible)

Active Iowa license or valid IMLC – Required

Available to start December 24, 2025 – Required

Clean malpractice and background – Required
