The Service Technician I is responsible for loading and / or unloading drums and containers from trucks and processing and / or storing hazardous waste materials. Essential functions and requirements include :

• Ensures health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times
• Loads and / or unloads drums and containers from trucks; processes and / or stores hazardous waste materials
• Weighs and breaks down large containers into smaller containers
• Completes inspection and mechanical placement of drums on conveyor and completes the manual placement of buckets from pallet to carriage
• Drives forklift to retrieve drums and containers from storage and operates computer and conveyor
• Transports / positions trailers and tankers for collection of slag and ash
• Pumps out containers of liquid
• Transfers material from tank to tank using a centrifugal pump
• Maintains a clean work area
• Completes other duties as assigned

Education : High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience : Previous experience operating a fork truck (preferred) HAZWOPER certificate or previous fire-fighting experience (preferred).
