Retail Store Operations
Ensures proper pricing, itemization, tagging, signing, and documentation of UPC / PLU's for all store merchandise. Operates the computer and maintains computerized records. Researches and corrects scanning problems.
Champions Company and Division customer service programs to meet or exceed Division customer service goals. Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on fast, friendly, courteous customer service and accurate pricing.
Responsible for all pricing and documentation of pricing. Maintains proper scan descriptions and valid item modifiers. Organizes timely and accurate price changes. Sorts tags and signs by department / aisle and hangs price tags and signs throughout the store. Researches and corrects problems including missing or damaged tags and discontinued items. Conducts scanning audits. Corrects new item discrepancies. Ensures proper placement of bonus buy tags and signs.
Monitors not-on-file and hard to scan UPC codes. Performs monthly checks of Produce Shelf pricing and PLU's. Implements proper scan give-away procedures. Maintains and ensures placement of price accuracy guarantee signs on shelves and in the front end.
Responsible for maintenance of point-of-sale equipment and for implementing emergency procedures as required. Backs up computerized returned check file. Maintains a current UPC / PLU backup file. Operates related equipment including : scan audit devices, computers, and checkstand equipment. Occasionally operates hand trucks, six-wheel carts, and pallet jacks. May perform some checking, stocking, and training duties.
Stacks, prices, marks, faces, and rotates merchandise. Prevents shrink, damage, and spoilage of product. Prevents sale of out of code product.
Responsible for performing all job duties and responsibilities safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Ensures cleanliness of the computer / data file room and equipment.
Ability to be friendly, courteous, tactful, and maintain composure in dealing with customers and co-workers.
Must possess good oral and written communication skills, and good organizational skills.
Must be dependable and able to follow through on assignments.
Requires the ability to implement emergency procedures related to equipment and software malfunctions. Mental alertness and attention to detail are required for accurate completion of work activities.
Requires flexibility to learn and adjust to frequent equipment and software changes. Ability to learn and memorize a considerable amount of information including PLU codes, product location, checkstand and computer operating procedures, emergency procedures, and Company policies and procedures. Must possess basic mathematics skills.
Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to walk, bend, stoop, and reach continuously throughout work shift. Ability to twist and turn frequently. Manual dexterity, good eye-hand coordination, and good balance are necessary.
Occasionally reaches, lifts, stacks, and maneuvers objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 50 lbs.
Must be able to operate related equipment including : computers, scan audit devices, and checkstand equipment. Must be able to occasionally push and pull fully loaded hand trucks, six-wheel carts, and pallet jacks.
Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to equipment and work aids necessary to complete job duties.
Must be able to work in early morning, weekends, and holidays. Scheduled hours may vary. Good attendance is required.
Working conditions consist of a temperature controlled store environment.

Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and / or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO / Vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and / or 401(k) eligibility).
