The Director of Analytics, Data, and Intelligence Solutions is responsible for strategic and operational leadership in centralized data governance, analytics platforms, and business intelligence solutions while fostering collaboration, innovation, and proactive engagement. This role promotes robust security and governance practices, empowers teams through professional development, and builds strong partnerships to meet institutional goals. Reporting to the AVP of Enterprise Applications and Services, this position leads a team of managers and professionals, ensuring alignment with operational strategies and institutional priorities.
Responsibilities include :
- Defining and executing a strategic vision for analytics, data management, business intelligence technologies, and data governance that balances innovation with secure development practices.
- Leading and mentoring a team of managers and employees, encouraging proactive engagement and professional growth through structured development plans and continuous learning opportunities.
- Driving collaboration across ITS and University stakeholders, ensuring alignment between technology initiatives and institutional goals.
- Acting as a consultative partner to stakeholders, providing strategic insights, understanding business needs, and fostering two-way communication to drive solutions.
- Promoting a collaborative approach to problem-solving and resource alignment, empowering teams to respond effectively to institutional challenges and opportunities.
- Strengthening the team's understanding of institutional systems and processes, ensuring informed feedback and effective decision-making.
- Establishing and managing comprehensive governance frameworks that prioritize data quality, accessibility, and compliance, while embedding secure development practices into operational workflows.
- Conducting inventories of data assets and implementing integrated solutions for seamless, secure data utilization.
- Overseeing risk management and quality assurance protocols to ensure systems are robust and aligned with institutional priorities.
- Developing and maintaining a master calendar to coordinate activities and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
- Enhancing planning processes and adopting best practices to improve efficiency, manage risks, and achieve operational goals.
- Advocating for investments in secure and innovative solutions that drive institutional success and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Overseeing analytics platforms to deliver actionable insights and leverage data, reporting and intelligence technologies to improve operational outcomes.
- Ensuring that tools and platforms align with best practices in data governance and secure development.
- Driving innovation by identifying opportunities to integrate emerging technologies that address institutional priorities.
- Managing managers and professional staff. Establishing performance goals, allocating resources and assessing policies for direct subordinates.
- Developing departmental plans to maintain administrative data. Ensuring that the data is accessible, easy-to-use, flexible, and suitable for various analytical purposes, including joint analyses across multiple domains and interactions across multiple systems.
- Performing other related work as needed.
Minimum qualifications include a college or university degree in a related field and 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline. Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, background in information management or related field, direct supervisory experience managing a diverse team with multiple stakeholders, background in higher education, project and program management experience, and lead projects using a formal software lifecycle development methodology.
Preferred competencies include proven ability to lead teams in a collaborative, consultative, and proactive manner while championing professional development, demonstrated success in establishing governance frameworks that integrate secure development practices into broader operational strategies, strong strategic planning, resource management, and risk mitigation skills to ensure effective alignment with institutional goals, and effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to foster partnerships and drive consensus.
Working conditions include a standard office environment with flexible working arrangements, occasional extended hours during critical project phases, and extensive use of computer.
