WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Inspector for work located in the Fredericksburg, VA area. Specifically the towns of Saluda & Northern Neck

WSP Office Location : Virginia Beach, VA

Your Impact

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Inspect and review work in accordance with applicable codes and standards included in the project drawings and specifications including roadway, bridge, paving, drainage, electrical, ITS to ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, standards and codes
• Ability to interpret roadway and bridge plans, building plans, specifications, and contracts
• Monitor, observe, and report on field quality control and quality assurance for materials testing activities and / or conduct routine field tests on construction materials such as slump test, air content test, and compaction tests
• Keeps detailed records of contractor's performance and progress.
• Measure and record material placed for periodic contractor payments
• Conduct "receiving inspections" when material is delivered to the Project to verify that the materials received by the Contractor are accompanied by documentation noted by the source of supply and are in conformance with the Contract Documents,
• Creates / maintains daily inspection reports and project documentation and / or logs that describe number of employees on a job site, amount of work performed and materials used, weather conditions, accidents on the job site and equipment use.
• Utilize construction management software such as AASHTO's Field Manager, ProCore, or Primavera Contract Manager, etc.

Recognizes construction problems and applies standard techniques and procedures to solve the problem
