ATC Healthcare Services of Atlanta and Charleston is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Memphis, Tennessee.

Position Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of Tennessee
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Minimum of two years of paid experience as an RN in a similar setting
  • Job Responsibilities

  • Provide rapid assessment and stabilization for critically injured or ill patients in a high-acuity trauma setting.
  • Initiate life-saving interventions for patients presenting with conditions such as cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, and multi-system trauma.
  • Act as a primary responder for all levels of trauma activations, including blunt, penetrating, and complex trauma cases.
  • Administer emergency medications, fluids, and blood products; assist with intubation, central lines, chest tubes, and other emergent procedures.
  • Triage patients based on severity of condition using evidence-based protocols.
  • Make swift, accurate clinical decisions in high-pressure, fast-paced environments to prevent deterioration and ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Work alongside physicians, surgeons, respiratory therapists, EMS, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate emergent care.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, intensive care, or transfer based on evolving clinical conditions.
  • Utilize advanced monitoring tools (e.g., cardiac monitors, capnography, bedside ultrasound) to detect changes in patient condition.
  • Operate defibrillators, ventilators, and trauma bay equipment with expert-level competency.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, medications, and patient outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members during emotionally intense situations.
  • Provide compassionate care and emotional support to patients and families in crisis.
  • Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring respect, dignity, and high standards of care.
  • Maintain readiness to respond to mass casualty events, disasters, and large-scale trauma incidents.
