Job description

Summary

  • Job Overview : Join our dedicated Occupational Medicine team, where you will provide vital clinical and clerical support. Your role involves greeting patients and employers, answering inquiries, scheduling appointments, and utilizing computer applications for daily tasks, while coordinating the needs of multiple providers and staff.
  • About the Department : The Occupational Medicine Department aims to address the health and safety needs of both employers and employees. We specialize in managing work-related injuries and compliance with OSHA medical surveillance.
  • Qualifications :

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Healthcare Provider BLS certification is mandatory.
  • Must possess one of the following : Registered or Certified Medical Assistant or current unencumbered Oregon Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic licensure.
  • A valid driver's license and auto insurance as required by law are needed since the role requires the use of a personal vehicle.
  • Experience with MS Office is essential.
  • Upon hire, you will need to obtain DOT Collector and Breath Alcohol Technician certifications within three months, and CAOHC Audio certification within six months.
  • Preferred qualifications include training in medical terminology, certification in urine drug screening, breath alcohol, spirometry, audiometry, and medical assistant or billing experience.
  • Skills and Abilities :

    • Adaptability and flexibility to respond effectively to diverse and high-risk patient situations.

  • Strong computer literacy to operate electronic health records and appreciate healthcare technology.
  • Excellent customer service skills, focused on assessing needs and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify, evaluate, and implement solutions for complex issues.
  • Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Physical Requirements : The position may require lifting weights up to 60 lbs, standing, walking, and various physical activities throughout the day.
  • Workplace Location : This position operates at the Samaritan Occupational Medicine site.
