Serves as a leader, motivator and expert relative to successful operation and execution of all areas of Production and Sales across the following departments :
- Non-Perishable : grocery, dairy, frozen foods, healthy living, bulk foods, and gift baskets.
- Perishable : Produce, Meat Market, Seafood Market, and Floral.
- Food Service : Kitchen, Cafe, Prepared Foods, Cooking School, Bakery, Deli, and Cheese Departments.
This position is responsible for ensuring that we delight our customers, satisfy our partners, and meet company objectives while reporting to the General Manager.
Responsibilities
Use independent judgment to make employment-related and business decisions, or recommend such decisions, including product and department strategies, hiring, promotions, discipline, and other partner-related matters.Responsible for merchandising, product mix, product costs, and the supervision of Partners via department managers.Provide overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this unit.Ensure compliance with all federal, state and company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation.Supervise daily management of non‑perishable, perishable, and food service departments and merchandising via department managers.Maintain vendor relations and communicate Central Market expectations.Conduct employment interviews, performance appraisals and provide partner feedback.Train and develop partners.Deliver superior customer service.Requirements
Strong supervisory and management skills for successful operation and execution of all areas of production and sales across non‑perishable, perishable, and food service departments.Long‑term strategic and financial planning skills.Bachelor’s degree plus one to two years of related experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience
