Aquent has an exciting opportunity for a MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) Project Manager in Menlo Park, CA!

This position is 100% on-site. For this reason, only candidates who can comfortably commute to our client's location in Menlo Park will be considered.

In addition, to be considered for this role, you must :

  • Be authorized to work in the United States
  • Not require sponsorship of any kind for the duration of the assignment
  • Be able to work on a W-2 basis. C2C or 1099 is not permitted for this position

  • About the Role :
  • As a pivotal member of our client's team, you will be at the forefront of construction and architectural initiatives, driving projects from conceptualization through successful completion. You will orchestrate complex endeavors, ensuring seamless integration of critical systems and upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage diverse stakeholders, and navigate the intricacies of project delivery, contributing directly to an environment that fosters discovery and service.

  • What You'll Do :
  • Lead comprehensive project planning, control, and execution for construction and architectural projects.
  • Drive effective communication and coordination across all project stakeholders, ensuring alignment and progress.
  • Adhere to established standard work and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop, execute, and meticulously track project scope, schedule, and cost to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Champion quality assurance and safety protocols, ensuring compliance and a secure working environment.
  • Oversee procurement processes and manage vendor relationships effectively.
  • Ensure thorough documentation and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide strong team leadership and manage stakeholder expectations, fostering collaborative environments.
  • Manage project and financial closeout processes efficiently as projects near completion.
  • Maintain rigorous data quality control for all project-related information.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Engineers to manage a diverse portfolio of up to 20 projects simultaneously, varying in scale and timeline.
  • Direct the development of action plans and estimate resource requirements (management, labor, materials, time).
  • Facilitate discussions and negotiations to achieve consensus within project scope.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive change management strategies and communication plans, actively addressing resistance to change.
  • What You'll Bring :
  • Must-Have Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with three years of relevant project management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-5 years of project management experience within the construction and / or architectural industry.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) projects.
  • Experience managing projects of moderate size and complexity, including robust project planning, scheduling, tracking, and budgeting.
  • Proven experience with move coordination and planning.
  • Proficiency in Project Management software.
  • Knowledge of Lean Principles and Process Improvement methodologies.
  • Polished written and oral communication skills, adaptable for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to productively engage and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply integration, scope, time management, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement components in project management.
  • Strong resilience, diplomacy, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Depth of technical discipline knowledge required to successfully deliver complex projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work on-site approximately 20% of the time, with local travel between facilities as needed.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Nice-to-Have Qualifications :
  • Basic knowledge of relevant building and regulatory codes.
  • Familiarity with specific project management platforms.
  • Work Environment & Physical Demands :
  • This role involves working in dynamic environments, which may include active laboratories or outdoor settings. You may be exposed to varying conditions such as extreme temperatures, high voltage, radiation / electromagnetic fields, lasers, noise (>

    80 dB TWA), allergens / biohazards / chemicals / asbestos, heavy metals, or work on roofs >

    10 ft. The ability to drive a vehicle day and night is required. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required, including dressing for clean rooms. The role may involve extended hours, evenings, and weekends as needed.

    Physical requirements include frequently standing / walking, sitting, performing desk-based computer tasks, and lifting / carrying / pushing / pulling up to 10 pounds. Occasionally, you may use a telephone, write by hand, twist / bend / stoop / squat, and lift / carry / push / pull up to 20 pounds. Rarely, you may kneel, crawl, climb ladders, reach above shoulder, and lift / carry / pull up to 40 pounds or more. Auditory and visual acuity are required for safety and assessing finishes. The ability to climb scaffolding, ladders, and stairs is also necessary. Reasonable accommodation will be provided as required.

    The target hiring compensation range for this role is $50.00 to $59.35 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
